@Sophistifunk really what it requires is for the uninitiated to do their own research and get in the car and drive, maybe learn a thing or two first-hand over time. but nobody starts out wanting to do any of that work

To explore bitcoin you need a mix of curiosity, risk tolerance, discomfort with authority and perseverance. If you are at 0 on any one of those 4 you will not be able to mess with it at all. Many people are at a 0 on "discomfort with authority" as the last few years have shown.
