@ekaitz_zarraga Sure, but we can also all name bigger orgs, often with more at stake, that have remained true to their mission.

Writing bylaws that protect against infiltration sounds like “Non-Profit 101” to me.

Philosophy class homework: Does an activist organization require authoritarianism to protect itself from infiltration and to preserve its integrity and its values?

Illustrate your work with examples of activist organizations, showing the impact of their governance structure on its integrity.

Nixpkgs now allows (if I’m not mistaken) merges by package maintainers, who are usually not committers, by sending commands to a merge bot:

    Food for thought, fellow #Guix.

(We should consider migrating to a Weblate instance sometime…)

Anyway, I’d love to have translations into Basque and more generally into “languages without a state” and other underrepresented languages.

Meta removes many hate speech protections
Meta replaced its “hate speech” policy for Facebook, Instagram and Threads by a “hateful conduct” policy, explicitly allowing many forms of insults and gender-exclusive language.

@ekaitz_zarraga @zimoun I stopped using the monolith long ago, but build time with modular TeX Live looks reasonable to me.

That said, there was a slowness issue with modular TeX Live at one point, supposedly fixed in September:
    https://issues.guix.gnu.org/64772

Would be good to bring it up if it resurfaces!

@dpk @krans Great that all this could be implemented on top of SRFI-9!

What’s missing though, and can hardly be added, is subtyping. Of the features listed on the wiki page you mention, that’s the one I would add.

SRFI-99 looks like a good compromise?

    @krans @dpk Very insightful, indeed.

Guix has developed a kitchen-sink syntactic record layer atop SRFI-9 (which is itself implemented in terms of Guile records). It has delayed and thunked fields, field value “sanitizers”, record “inheritance” (essentially functional setters), and more.

@Guillawme @zimoun The reason for using (append (list x y z) lst) instead of (cons* x y z lst) in documentation is that the former is hopefully clearer: ‘cons*’ is kind of an obscure name, unless you’re already a Lisp insider.

(Apart from that, the two idioms are totally equivalent.)
