    @cilian @Linux_in_a_Bit just lays things out in a nicer way compared to the official client which places some stuff in odd places like placing the federated feed in the search tab (or was it the local feed they put there? can't really remember, haven't used it in a while)

    @cilian @Linux_in_a_Bit oh yeah I remember now, the lack of a federated timeline was what made me look at Tusky when just getting on Fedi because it's where I looked the most to find people to follow

    @cilian @Linux_in_a_Bit pretty sure it does but they just come with a massive delay due to Android background process limitations, Mastodon may be using GCM for that which bypasses the background process restrictions for notifications but adds a hard dependency to Google Play Services or microG which most apps on F-Droid would rather avoid

    @cilian @Linux_in_a_Bit I know it depends a lot on the ROM too because some Android ROMs are particularly bad about not allowing shit to run in the background, especially OEM ROMs and especially OneUI
    AOSP custom ROMs like Lineage, crDroid, AEX etc should be fine tho

    @helene nothing, it's perfect, it's responsive, fast, lightweight, it renders in every browser you throw it at be it NCSA Mosaic, Internet Explorer, or w3m, it has everything that makes a site good

    @helene @schappi I never understood why Microsoft can't just provide bootable images that you can dd to the disk and then boot into, instead forcing you to use tools like Rufus and WoeUSB

    @icedquinn @helene funny they say it's so the compositor only does the bare minimum when gnome, the people who came up with that crap, are the same people loading their whole DE into the compositor, and infact without extensions made by KDE and Sway you actually can't make a DE any other way in Wayland, the original spec simply has no way for you to have a desktop shell outside the compositor
