So unfortunately, the mastodon server instance I was using for Vintage Apparatus has just vanished without warning. So I'm looking for a new home for all the retrocomputing / vintage computing stuff i do on https://vintageapparatus.com/ - Any suggestions for an instance? I know of oldbytes.space - that has 370 users on it, which isn't a ton. Any others?
(I'll also be setting up something on Bluesky, but not as my primary)
Voyager 1 is dying. It's given us so much, and exceeded so many of our expectations.
Please, if this means anything to you, take a moment, listen to Carl Sagan's "Pale Blue Dot" - a beautiful ode to our place in the universe - inspired by a photo taken by Voyager...
@goatsarah I see your smirky sailor, and raise you a smirky stageworker / theater lighting tech.
It's definitely one of those skills when you see someone doing it wrong it's a hard fight not to fling yourself across the room and tackle them "NO NO NO NO NO! WRONG WRONG WRONG! GIMME THAT"
