Today marks 40 days of me driving an electric car. I always repelled the idea of an EV and was happily chugging along in my gasoline car, boasting about filling it up in under a minute.
Then I discovered never needing to actually fill up for 99% of the time, as it's always charged and ready to go in the morning.
We're in a financially stable place right now and have room to grow and absorb traffic spikes. We're looking to invest in the stability of the platform but also to pay it forward by doing a (recurring) donation.
I want to crowdsource some ideas about this and maybe do a poll to vote on these answers later.
@jelv I do, and while I agree to some point about sharing and helping others, from a business perspective I don't want to give /everything/ away for free. :-)
I'm still a DevOps guy that relies on his knowledge to pay the bills.
@jelv@Mastodon@Gargron@mastohost I have actually. My profile does fit, but I’m not looking for such a position right now as I’m fully booked until next year. If needed, a couple of hours of consultancy is always on the table though. :)
I've started an ActivityPub relay as a little experiment. Having exposure to more posts should improve content discovery for everyone that's an user on any of the connected member instances.
The goal: It's private by default and I'd like to only accept instances who actively moderate with similar rules to #tootcommunity.
Current members: - toot.community - mastodon.world - mastodon.au
