We're in a financially stable place right now and have room to grow and absorb traffic spikes. We're looking to invest in the stability of the platform but also to pay it forward by doing a (recurring) donation.
I want to crowdsource some ideas about this and maybe do a poll to vote on these answers later.

@jelv I do, and while I agree to some point about sharing and helping others, from a business perspective I don't want to give /everything/ away for free. :-)
I'm still a DevOps guy that relies on his knowledge to pay the bills.

@jorijn from the outside it sounds for me like you have unique admin hosting and performance skills. If you can document that knowledge and share it to the project or other fediverse project in any form that would improve the network. Or adopt a volunteer for a project like the documentation or something to help out.
