Migrants don't go to the US for no reason, they go because, one way or another, the US already came to our countries and fuck us up. Be it a coup, like Guatemala, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Venezuela, be it a trade deal, be it strong arm policies (the "big stick"), be it a full fledged genocide (Guatemala). That's why people migrate from Latin America. Some takes I read make me feel you only care about cheap workers that make your food or drive your ubereats.

Venezuela has been hit terribly the last decades. Their main trading partner, the US, stopped buying their oil, it also froze their assets and gold assets, stole planes, etc. It's not like the Chavez-Maduro leadership is without blemish, bu the US ensured by using their economic supremacy that Venezuela's economy will fail, no mater what the government does.

That's why there are so many migrants from Venezuela. Want them to stop coming? Stop fucking up their country, lift the sanctions.

Reading on many anti-Trump takes and No Kings banners, it dawns on me that most of you want the problem that is Trump for your daily life fixed, but you don't really care about the problem that America is for the rest of the world: coups, invasions, interventions, electoral meddling, drone attacks, etc.
