@joncollinsdev @mike OK! So fundamentally Mastodon is a platform that's built on ActivityPub. The point I'm struggling to communicate with others is that you're NOT really joining Mastodon, you're connecting to ActivityPubVerse, yes? Hence the "join on the fediverse?" Which I also kind of don't like because there could very well be (and maybe already are?) other non-ActivityPub "fediverses." I'm liking the comparison to email services more than anything really.
