So since Biden has dropped out of running for 2024:

There have been more donations for Democratic candidates across the nation.

There's been more voter registration for the Democratic Party, especially in swing states.

Harris has gotten the DNC behind her faster than Biden did, as the nominee.

Mastodon raised money for Harris instead of Biden, out weighing the donations for Biden, Bernie, and other candidates.

Polling numbers have gone up for Harris, and down for Trump.

Trump is having a hard time putting any spin on Harris since she can think of a rebuttal faster than he can spit out his word soup.

It's like when we said "Biden is a bad choice" we meant it. I guess everyone of those "secret Republicans" and "Russian bots" are registered Democrats who are fundraising and excited for Harris' run at the office now too, right?

Maybe next time they'll listen to their voter base. Maybe.

Even during 9/11, people were saying this is the start of the end for any form of freedom. Then we had economic crash after crash. Then more rights removed. More drone strikes. More illegal wars. Both parties did it.

Then we tried to warn about Trump. No one cared. He won. The people who said he would hurt did get hurt. People acted shocked.

Biden came in. Ignored the people in jail cells, ignored COVID for better polling, refusing the new powers given to him to do anything better, and slowly turning into a walking skeleton.

And *every* single time people have said "Hey this is bad for any form of democracy" people said it was overblown, nothing bad would happen.

Then it got worse and worse. Voting didn't solve most of the issues. Protesting did. And then both parties clamped harder on protestors.

Welcome to Welmar Germany, America. We've only warned you for decades. If this doesn't wake anyone up, then you'll sleepwalk as you claim ignorance on why you're "just following orders".

Trump gets shot. Uses the time to the medical bed to pose for the camera.

White House and others instantly give him the floor, wishing Hitler 2.0 better health.

Meanwhile the people Trump wishes to harm are celebrating he got a scratch, wishing it was dead center.

People scold marginalized communities. "Violence is not welcomed here." The country that has a rampant rise in white nationalism, and daily mass shootings.

The country that enables systemic abuse to its citizens because being kind costs too much money, or being neutral on evil acts is how it's always been done, so why change now?

If you're mad at people mocking Trump, and not Biden's team using this time to go "thoughts and prayers for Orange Hitler", you're wrong at the wrong people.

Learn better. If you can't, you're a useful idiot for both sides. You'll goosestep if one of two tells you it's actually better for the country, just ignore who is being stepped on.

@AnarchoNinaWrites The only thing is that being in opposition gives more money to Democrats than when in control of the Presidency. Losing to Trump doesn't really impact any of the big leaders other than some egg on their face for a few weeks.

Obama and Pelosi are probably fine if Biden wins or loses, they'll be the first to get out if Project 2025 starts.

Decades later, a massive parking lot takes up most of the space reserved for it, and remains basically inaccessible to anyone who can't drive.

When the Fed tried to "make amends" by making a statue of Crazy Horse, they didn't do any research and had no idea he hated the idea of any statues being made of him, so they just gave up on building another statue yet again.

And its the only reason why anyone cares about the state beyond election day, or might ever consider wasting time visiting it.

If I ever see a product/service/game that is hyper advertised, especially via YouTube sponsorships, I actively avoid it.

If they get people with spending money on ads than spending money on the service for better features, support, feedback, then it's not worth your time or money.

And its even worse if it has a free trail. Expecting you to just forget about you putting in your credit card number to it in 7, 14, or 30 days.

And its even *worse* if it's free. If you have money to make youtubers gush about how much they enjoy your services, and it costs *nothing*? That's gotta be stealing my social security number or something.

A good product speaks for itself. I will gladly and happily tell you about a bit of free software that I love. I will happily tell you about a dry herb vaporizer I use. I will easily tell you about my favorite local resturants and stores.

Since this fully bothers me on a recurring basis:

If I make any content, big or small, shitpost or dedicated art, you're free to share it.

If I didn't want it to be shared, I wouldn't make it public. Especially putting it on the information superhighway where data is shared so easily it's hard to not have it shared to corporations and governments.

If I wanted something hidden, I would either:
- Not post it online
- Say it privately over a phone call
- Write it down
- Not say or share it

Because when the Internet is a chain of someone else's computers, I'm silly to think I can personally stop someone from right clicking like an NFT chud.

So if you see me publicly sharing something, you can take it. Share the meme. Post the hot take. That's the point. If you wanna give attribution, go ahead.

If we needed explicit permission to share things in public, the Internet would have imploded in 1993, art shows couldn't exist with dead artists, and lots of weird things in public couldn't be documented.

And so it's clear: *Give artists credit. Don't steal their work for AI. Sharing art is not the same as claiming it.*

So Meta/Threads/some people are claiming that any mention of #PixelFed being muted was a bug.

And I don't doubt that software made by corporations is buggy, I've had my fair of experiences with Microsoft, Google, Apple, and other big name websites and services to understand it's often spaghetti on fire.

But it's just *odd* that the bug only impacted:
- A known competitor to Facebook/Meta
- Did not impact other posts of a similar nature
- Only impacted a service that doesn't happen to have the funds for a legal team
- Only was patched after public notice

And while Halon's Razor says "Never attribute malice what can be explained with incompetence", looking at the history of Embrace, Extend, Extinguish from the biggest tech companies, I think that razor has gotten rusty.
