@lore If you want to get fancy you could setup your own CA to issue the certificates. I use step-ca to issue certificates with ACME on all my internal services.
@lore That is frustrating. I haven't used CalDAV in so many years I can't remember what I used to use. I would run into syncing issues like you describe at times. I eventually switched to iCloud calendars once all my Android devices were gone.
Yesterday we finished The Good Place after starting it about 3 weeks ago. I’m grateful I didn’t know anyone watching it when it was still on TV, it’s definitely best to go in completely blind.
There were some filler episodes but even those had good laughs in it. I feel like they wrapped it up very well. Well worth the time investment.
I need to find more quality ~20-30 minute shows like this.
Sometime last year I experimented with a Misskey instance but the lack of good mobile client support ruled it out for me. Watching all the work @thatonecalculator has been doing with #Calckey I decided to finally give it a try.
I recently setup a new instance and am impressed with the work done to integrate the Mastodon API. The Antennas feature is great, much more effective than following hashtags.
I will be importing my follows on that instance soon so I can easily switch between both.
Hello everyone, I'm Augustine. I've been around the fediverse since 2019 and decided to start my own instance in August 2022. I work in network #security but #sysadmin and #homelab as a hobby.
I live with my wife, kids and cats which keep me plenty busy. I reply more than I post. I'll always interact with posts of big fluffy cats. We currently have a cuddly Maine Coon and a sassy Siberian.
I play #FFXIV most weekends. I'm also enjoying the #SteamDeck lately and revisiting some isometric RPGs.
Big media genres for me are #scifi and #fantasy. Fan of old Hong Kong (Shaw Brothers, Golden Harvest), Korean, and Japanese films.
I wish I had done it sooner. The metrics that can be scraped from Mastodon are great. It has made me rethink much of the monitoring I have setup. I haven't yet delved into using an SNMP collector, so much of my network monitoring is still handled with LibreNMS, but I will at some point.
Attached is a 12-hour view into magincia.cafe for those that are curious.
@helene@cope true I only use it for compiling the OTP and then run it in a separate stage. I keep the database outside of Docker. Makes trying tweaks much quicker especially if changing versions.
@helene@cope I’ve been using Docker to build and run under different Elixir versions. Main limitation there is whichever version of Erlang the Elixir image was built with unless building your own.
I decided to build a Misskey instance for fun to go with the Pleroma and Akkoma instances I’m playing with. Then I realized there are at least 3 different versions of Misskey being maintained. I can see why @helene gets frustrated.
@helene it seems to be a bit of a meme right now, but following your thoughts make it clear that is not the case. You are trying to tackle some of the hard issues with federation not just quality of life improvements.
Technology tinkerer. Linux with a preference for Arch and Debian, started on Slackware.Radiohead and Björk. K-Pop and J-Pop provides endless enjoyment, I have no single fandom.Physical media loyalist. There is no better way to watch classic Wuxia films than a remastered Blu-ray.Gamer when I find the time, usually a RPG or JRPG and late at night.Current MMO is FFXIV. Some of my best MMO memories are from Ultima Online.#nobot
