母が初冠雪した桜島の写真を送ってきた。キレイだねー。My mother sent me a beautiful photo of Sakurajima, which is one of the most active volcanoes in Japan, covered with snow for the first time in this winter. It is located on the southern part of the island of Kyushu, about 50km from Kagoshima City, where is popular tourist destination.
ME, after searching "Bullet Train" on Netflix: Oh crap, Bullet Train is not available in Japan. Netflix email: "Are you looking for Bullet Train? Good news! It's streaming now"(in Japanese). Me: Yay, let's watch (clicking "Watch now" button) Netflix:Sorry, this title is not currently available in your country of residence. Me:WWWWhhhhyyyyyyyy
My fossil tweets used to be added to series of moments by fossil community, but it is sad that they can't create new moment and don't discover my fossil toots on mastodon. There certainly are fossil/geology communities on mastodon, and I just need to connect with them through hashtags.
I have had to overcome three tears. The first was when I learned that the flock was not safe. Second, when the flock dispersed. The last is when the scattered birds find each other on their own, huddle together, and then fly off on their own new journeys. I shall celebrate the last one, but still can't stop the tears from flowing.
Memorable questions asked in the interview: state why you would be rejected and why you would be accepted, respectively. I got this question 2 times in my whole career and I hear it and it makes sense to me, but I'm not sure if I want to ask this q if I was an interviewer. It is a kind of less conversational and exam type of question. I know it works sometimes actually.
My 1H2023 wishlist: 1. My oldest to be accepted into the school of her choice, and getting along well with her new schoolmates. 2. Adopt a dog as a new family member. 3. Keep the family healthy and safe. Anything else...? Maybe I will come up with something more specific as the end of the year approaches.
