I recently picked up animal crossing pocket camp complete. it came up in my search for easy multiplayer games for the ios. i didn't realize the "complete" version of pocket camp only has camper cards for social and only came out recently in december 2024 after the original was discontinued. however, it does have the complete content from the past 7 years plus ongoing events. i played the original game when it first came out.

The game is currently discounted at $10 for it's release and the price will increase at the end of the month. I think this is one of the most enjoyable games i have ever had on my phone. i cannot begin to tell you how fun it is to be able to play on the layout of my phone and be able to progress in a game without ever worrying about microtransactions. the game has so many cute assets and it's super easy (less infuriating) to do the tasks to gather materials compared to the actual game, as well as accumulate coins and what not. i feel free to actually buy the things that i like as i unlock them from leveling up by helping villagers. there's a perfect amount of tasks without being constantly drawn to my phone to be encouraged to buy something with real world money.

i do hope they bring the social features back!

Hello all, I have an urgent cry for help for a dear dear friend of mine, Double I E (he/xe/we). He hasn't been able to land a job for over a year since graduating. For a while xe had somewhat stable housing before being forcefully kicked out by xyr abusive housemates. He has been living from AirBnB to AirBnB for months but the funds have run out and we are now in a shelter that does not care for its tenants and has unsafe roommates. He is a wonderful Queer, Trans, and Disabled Black artist. Double I E would like to have a space of their own in Philly, so xe will no longer need to keep our things in many different temporary storage. We have tried many Philly facebook groups to no avail!

It's a tough day in the US, and I think it would be nice to have a thread about what you're doing to cope and care for yourself and your community in the coming days.

Here are some things on my mind:
- Ask/Offer food delivery for those who are low on energy
- Ask/Offer reminders to eat, drink water, take meds, spend time outside
- Ask/Offer reminders to indulge in one's favorite things: music, games, etc.
- Ask/Offer space to help distract, vent, or maybe just have a cry together

Some friends have mentioned that they plan to do letter writing, seek out their local democratic socialist of America chapter, or have a call with their (chosen) family

Yesterday I helped volunteer at a local disabilities org to help clear out "weeds", primarily Canadian thistle, burdock, smartweed, and mock strawberry. The land wasn't used last season and became very dry. Instead they prioritized raised beds. They plan to weed wack, till, then add a cover crop for the winter. I ask them about their practices: they said right now they don't have that much permaculture implementation because they are focusing on access needs before rushing into adopting regenerative practices randomly. It reminds me of Aimi Hamraie's work. I had a nice time sharing with the other volunteers some of my knowledge of the plants we were encountering, their uses, and considerations to make when removing them.
