As part of testing my physical Atari800XL I installed an 800XL emualtor to make sure what I'm seeing on screen matches what I see on the system.

I have seen this text a million times, but I've only seen it like this during classes in the early 80s. Just the font shapes were enough to trigger that nostalgia feeling.

Without downloading any new pics, what’s your energy going into 2024?

When I lived in State College, PA, I used to walk past this historical marker most every day on my way to work. Always wanted to see the computer, which my phone outclasses in probably almost every way.

Today I spoke as the keynote speaker for the Transgender Day of Remembrance Vigil for City of Bellevue today. It was a bit overwhleming as I was not expecting to be the sole speaker at the event, but I did my best with what I had.

Since moving to Seattle, I haven't done much in the way of the TDOR, or even trans activism, as the Pacific Northwest has it's act together much better than Texas ever did. And I honestly didn't feel I deserved to speak as I haven't done anything in a long while.

But as a friend said, "it's not about being deserving - it's a duty."

And if asked, I'll speak again. Although I hope we never need another TDOR Vigil ever again.

Tonight's "Sunday Night Movie" is Airplane! I love love LOVE this movie, and I think one of the reasons that a lot of other Leslie Nielsen or farce comedy movies don't work for me is the comedy in Airplane! is played 100% straight. They don't react to the jokes.

I absolutely love the Police Squad! TV show for this reason, but in the movies, everyone reacts to the jokes and setups, which really blunts the cvomedy for me. Kinda like having a laugh track in shows.

@socketwench - I kinda like this feeling of isolation. Something is so bad that what only really matters is what's around you.

I do love shows like V: The Series and War of the World's Second Season that show (albiet just in reports) the world outside.

So my pharmacy has changed up my Spiranolactone again, and I'm suddenly whiplashing back to the 2000s when I first got the kind of spiro that tastes like mentos and a light dusting of mildew.

Huh, I not only have the early drafts of the original Star Wars Trilogy, but Superman I and II, and now a bunch of the Transformers Movie drafts. I should absolutely do pages of all these drafts like I did for ST:TMP.

While setting up a "Wrapround Wednesday" for the Comico Comics Celebration I came across Lancer/Yellow Dancer's debut episode.

Oh, Yellow. My first real in depth look at a gender bending character (even before Boy George, mainly because I thought they were a cis girl at the time).

I knew I was trans at the time, and while I didn't put the trans label on Yellow/Lancer, it was nice to see. Especially when we got to episode 71 which explains Yellow's origin as a survival tactic and the fact that Lancer lived as a woman (And enjoyed it) for some time.

That kind of positive influence was something I needed at the time I realized I'd literally just figured out I was trans, even if I didn't have the vocabulary for it.

The website has been slightly updated. Turns out the design that looked good on paper did not look good on the screen. So I changed it, simpled it up, and now it's...better?
