Eeks. Just googled "oven mitt steering wheel' . Its a thing and its not just Phoenix. You can't make this up. Before she threw out the bit about oven mitts in cars in Phoenix she was saying how bikes never get that hot in hot weather. She's right that there's always a breeze. This afternoon my bike seat was a bit warm.

@ZaneSelvans Your deleted files may just have been moved to the trash bin. If that's the case they are still on the disk, but just in a different folder. Empty the trash bin and still see if your disk is full.
