@klardotsh I'm still of the opinion that the correct global optimum solution is at the human and machine protocol levels. Software and people should be more delay tolerant and require less bandwidth. Video chat for example is already recommended against due to its carbon impact.
But of course if you lose your job if you refuse to participate in the bitrate churn, this is of little consequence. But as a species, we shouldn't need Starlink.
Tbh if you were against the #NFT and #blockchain crap because of its energy requirements, you should be against #ChatGPT and most other currently hyped #AI crap. If you aren't, I'm really curious what you're doing that you think makes the energy expenditure worthwhile.

@noracodes YESSS. My favorite "algorithms are cool" story is when I used binary search to figure out which switch on our breaker box controlled the power to my room. It is such a useful piece of memetic material.
