d) ignore bug reports for and e) not only in policy but in fact ban people for replacing with their own clients that better serve their needs, which do not in fact cause spam or reliability problems for your services (and certainly not more than your own client).

All this, in addition to absolutely sucking the air out of the room for other services, is a negative for the world. (e.g. Discord gets $1b, Matrix $50m)

Had a good convo about this on Twitter, and to be specific, I think it's evil to: a) build a centralized, closed, network-effect based service which
b) is accompanied with a marketing campaign designed to move people away from existing services and c) requires the use of a client with significant stability, efficiency, and accessibility issues which you ...

But at the same time, discord is obviously important to a lot of people. It's important to me! I just think we deserve better, and Discord as a company is actively making it impossible for us to get that.
