     Element seems to be the most popular for Matrix, but it's just... not good imo. (I don't like the design and it seems buggy / slow kind of?)

     But at the same time, discord is obviously important to a lot of people. It's important to me! I just think we deserve better, and Discord as a company is actively making it impossible for us to get that.

     d) ignore bug reports for and e) not only in policy but in fact ban people for replacing with their own clients that better serve their needs, which do not in fact cause spam or reliability problems for your services (and certainly not more than your own client).

     All this, in addition to absolutely sucking the air out of the room for other services, is a negative for the world. (e.g. Discord gets $1b, Matrix $50m)
