So, yeah, I read about #Nix, I read the nix pills, I played with #NixOS in a VM... I would try to use it for a bit.
Oh hey, quick idea, let's look at a real-life derivation from a real package in nixpkg...

Time and time again, procrastination pays off. Sometimes I resist upgrading something because of annoying breaking changes.
Often, the impact of those changes is lessened in subsequent releases, making the dreaded upgrade a lot less painful.
Don't upgrade now what you can upgrade tomorrow. It'll be easier!*
*security patches excluded (and often they get backported so you can dodge the breaking changes in style!)

And yes, I also felt that Pelia should have been acknowledging the events of 300 years prior, upon her return. Perhaps she forgot? I mean, that's probably why she got into engineering in the first place, that was odd!
@Polychrome @TheGibson Honestly I appreciated the acknowledgement that witnessing a sudden death like that is traumatic.
My wife (a therapist usually more sensitive to this stuff) scoffed at La'an crying because she defaults to hating unnecessary "love stories". But I saw La'an mourning a friend first, and in a fucking traumatic way. ST characters are often shrugging away these events way too easily.
@thomasfuchs the hardest part of that would be tuning the quantum emitter of the main shield deflector. It wouldn't be so hard if it wasn't for the neutrino cascade effect, triggering a tachion reaction.
