Also I don’t wanna seem conspiratorial But my Linux video and poster is doing MASSIVE rounds on BlueSky/Mastodon and has been seen by like 3 people on Twitter even after I retweeted it Smells fishy
Today I've got something a little different. Here's a (very philosophical) video and accompanying blog post about why I've finally switched to Linux, and how I'm changing all of my tech habits. Something to think about for the weekend. https://youtu.be/RbvmtnWe2cw
Internet Archive isn't allowed to archive things as a library, yet AI bros are free to continue stealing EVERYONE'S work for all eternity because one makes a profit and one betters society. Fuck this. The internet is doomed. Time to invest even further in my own datahoarding
This is why YouTube isn't for creators like me anymore. Creators who want to help people, make entertaining and valuable content that people *look for*, etc. You search for something and you're bombarded with Shorts, ways to spend money, and even after a couple real search results you get "People also watched" (barely related) and then "For you" sections that aren't remotely relevant to the search results. Core functionality CANNOT be neutered for distracting goals or the whole thing is ruined.
Crunchyroll is shutting down the Funimation streaming service and deleting everyone's purchased copies of stuff, while also hiking their own prices. Stop paying for streaming media. Buy things you actually own. Or get it elsewhere.
DRM is actively keeping FireFox from having HDR or 4K support on some video sites. There's not a technical limitation to FireFox implementing those things, just an anti-consumer bullshit limitation. DRM is evil.
