@davidrevoy Wacom .... gee. Given that they are a "Physical World to Digital World"-Interface providing company, they are the ones who lose on all fronts with AI generated content.
They should have a company wide rule, everyone have to agree with, to not make use of AI to generate images or texts.

Hmm thanks to @puniko I saw that knuddels.de provides a linux build. (It's java), inside an ugly tarball.
Might try to push it to the aur. Would also like to try to get it flatpaked, but lets see. lol

Last time I was on knuddels was in the range of 2007. My switch to linux made it impossible to join back in the day.

@tokyo_0 How is it a different situation? If it speaks activitypub and talks to the fediverse, it's on the fediverse.

@tokyo_0 it still comes down to how the fedi does. Because on mastodon a user does hold the power to block a whole other server. No need that your instance blocks it.
Now if a user does this, will the instance still send the user data to the remote instance and as such allow data to be (ab)used or will it not?

@tokyo_0 sure, but scraping is not using. My point was that they probably already scrap the fediverse for a long time - just like google and so on.

With the Fediverse, my actual question is whats unauthorised use? Do I agree to share my content with every instance my instance shares it with? Is there something I agreed on?

@tokyo_0 it's more of a "to use", not "to scrape" this data, isnt it? But in this case, how is it even handled on the fediverse - do you know this by any chance?

@tokyo_0 you dont agree to terms of services you tone use? For copyright, i dont know how this applies to profile building. But i guess this also also depends on your instances legal location.
