How are so many people generating photorealistic images with AI? Every time I have tried any of the image generators, the outcome is a hilarious mess. Such as this nightmare from Dall-E.

The prompt? "A fleet of 5 British aircraft carriers in a large NATO taskforce at sea."

Its vaguely taskforce-y, but its hardly what I asked for...

Travelling on trains always makes me realise that I'm tall. We all stand up to get off the train, and I'm towering over everyone.

Everyone else needs to grow more.

I find it outrageous and incredibly offensive how often subtitles are censored.

I've experienced it on broadcast TV. On Amazon. On YouTube. And elsewhere.

Deaf people do not need swear words hidden. Those of us with hearing loss don't suddenly decide, "Ah, yes, because I can't hear fully, I don't want to experience swearing anymore."

Stop censoring our content!

I keep seeing articles about getting rid of self service tills in supermarkets. The people that end up interviewed are invariably boomers.

What about those of us who LIKE self service tills? I like being able to shop without having to interact with strangers. There's plenty of people like me as well.

Rather than talking about banning them, how about we just make sure there's both manned and self service tills in shops?

I see there are people questioning the death totals coming out of Gaza, specifically the percentage of the deaths that are children. The numbers so far have been around 50% of deaths are children. Which seems outrageously high doesn't it?

What if you factor in the demographics of Gaza? That half the population of the strip are children in the first place? Also it being a densely populated area, with nowhere to go to escape.

Half the deaths being children makes sense in that context.

How on Earth does this run at a loss? I spent many hours there as a kid, and it is a flat field with a toilet block. That's all.

Their own numbers in the article say that 2300 people camped there in the last full year. With permits costing £100, that's £230,000 is it not?

How does cutting grass and cleaning a toilet block cost that much? Hell, pay be £50k a year, and I'll do it.

@goatsarah this is exactly the issue I've had for a long time. The arguments for changing how Mastodon works, how it is moderated, etc, are seemingly mostly from Americans that are trying to frame everything from a US perspective. It's infuriating.

There's more Europeans than Americans, surely we can have one place which suits us more than them?
