But here people, reply, talk and you can really craft your social network (even *more* so on Calckey!) ... but yeah, 743 settings 🤣

Oh wow, well I'm definitely pro-HRT given the lack of other options and UK waiting lists so ...

1. Evie @SleepyCatten has a tonne of information. A tonne
2. Go into it "informed" and well-read (I read endocrinology papers beforehand) and I know a *lot* more than my GP, and she knows that ?
3. Talk with others - you have a couple now including myself

Versus a 5-year (well endless now) GIC wait-list :Fire_Trans: for me this was a no-brainer but yes I'd read *a lot* before

4. I have a couple of suppliers I used before I got GP-support but Evie probably has a lot more

- Be human, we like that a lot
- A good #Introduction post really help. If you add a cat pic with it, you're a star ?
- Following 1.2K people becomes a recipe for home timeline insanity, trust me
- More cat pics ... please?
- Getting five boosts on a cooking post can mean just as much as something that goes viral ❤️
- Reply to people, chat a lot
- Did I mention cats? ?
- A post that *does* go really viral rapidly becomes a pain-in-the-ass. Your notifications will be unusable for a day or two
- Authenticity just cuts through like you cannot believe
- If you are happy on your server then contribute
- Thank & value your admins & mods
- #Caturday regularly
- The odd bit of silliness never hurts? see "Authenticity"
- People here are generally very cool, make a big effort to get on ❤️

For me it's been such an experiential eye-opener - like a social media sand-box? Still loving the whole "vibe"

I knew Elon would be bad, but he's moved far faster and crazier than I expected - or makes any sense to me tbh

I'm at a final stage of *trying* to pull a few last trans friends out of the 'fire' via DMs with server invites. It's hard now as different reasons for staying there eg:

- Waverers / fear of change?
... yes, some successes!

- Stockholm Syndrome?
... almost impossible

- Addicted to posting a selfie, getting 100 'likes' from people you don't know?
... well, it's *different* here

I don't rely on bad things said about a platform, as I've seen tonnes said about here too

For me it's the online safety aspect for trans people here that would be harder to beat than, say, a better UI?

Yeah, there's a nice community vibe here I feel it too. And wider, it's the whole culture here we're part of

For me the big question is if a bunch of GCs and TERFs hit the Hive in a year ... and you know they follow us trans folk like a plague - is moderation there any better than Twitter say a year ago (which was still terribly slow and toxic even then)

I guess how safe we are 'here' has been a huge eye opener for me, I totally admit it
