@Rasp But a year is actually about 365.25 days long. Thirteen months of 28 days would be 364 days. We'd lose 1.25 days every year.

Maybe every 6 years, we have a Leap Week. We'd still lose half a day every 6 years so every 84 years we'd add a second Leap Week to even things out.

@feditips I've been thinking of writing short stories and novellas and releasing them for free. I don't like the idea of posting them to some service where I won't control my data, though. This is good news. I could spin up a WordPress site, post my stories there, and link it up with the Fediverse to increase visibility.

(I actually have a WordPress site I was going to use for this so I might add this plugin to test it out.)

@selzero For almost my entire life (at least since I started voting), my father has told me that I'll become a conservative when I get older.

When I was 18, it was when I turn 30. When I was 30, it was when I turn 40. When I turned 40, it became a nebulous "when you're older."

@selzero I'm 48 now and am actually more liberal than when I was younger. To give an example, had you asked 20 year old me about marriage equality, I'd have said "gay people can have civil unions. Marriage is between a man and a woman." Nowadays, I'm fully supportive of marriage equality.

Will I perpetually keep getting more liberal? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe that Overton paradox will claim me as well. Still, I'm not going to turn into some MAGA Trump supporter just because I can join AARP soon.

@georgetakei She described something that makes her happy. He raged that what makes her happy is "wrong" because it doesn't make him happy.

People like different things. I enjoy coding & designing/building LEGO sets. I'm sure plenty of people would find this incredibly boring just as I'm sure I'd hate doing activities that other people love doing.

If you don't like doing what the person says they like doing either don't comment or be happy for them finding something they enjoy doing.

But then they made the API so expensive that you can't use third party apps anymore so you go to Lemmy instead.
