We lost my tortoishell riotgirl Monica today. She was loving, assertive, and opinionated. She made eye contact with us like she understood human speech. She was loyal, strongly bonded to me, and was queen over all beings who lived in my household. I was there with her to the very end. I'll see you in the next life, Ms. M. 🐱🌈

No one on Bluesky appreciated my suggestion that "Eyes Wide Shut" should be remade with muppets. Boring crowd over there.

Being a cisgender, white male in a state where most people voted bigly for Trump, I kmow I'm not a high priority target for anyone in D.C.. I'm too far away for them to give a shit that I call my winter holiday Yule instead of Christmas.

What scares me is the prospect of a local fundamentalist church becoming the government. Then it becomes much more likely that I will be harmed for being a religious minority. The federal government won't try to murder me; they'll just do nothing to stop it.
