This album is adcertied as to be 24bit in depth and has 96kHz frequency range.

As you can see from the spectrum chart, from the minor peaks, I believe only one instrument / mix source has the frequency detail, but nothing else has. This should also not be advertised as 96khz frequency range. I believe this is because of the master, but these definitely need proper remasters with proper frequency details.

Should these really be advertised as 96khz at Qobuz?

Totally Debatable.

This spectrum graph is a direct purchase of a Qobuz song, a music service that offers HQ audio streams and downloads.

You can "buy" the tracks from them, they offer downloads:

This song is being claimed that it's 24bit and 96khz on the details page, but as you can see, it's definitely not.

This is from a SACD. These have premium bitrate and frequency range.

But for this example, for the premium price, you literally buy white noise and possibly anger your cat 🤡

Interesting detail:

This spectrum chart has horizontal lines around 16kHz.

At reddit, a sound engineer confirmed these are literally electrical noise.

This particular noise, coming from 16khz is apparently from the cathode ray tube monitors (CRT monitors). Many masters, coming from 1990s have this, because CRT was widely used back then.

So, an old CRT monitor was around when this was being recorded/mastered 🤡

The masterer did not even bother to clean this at all 🤷♂️

And another interesting noise detail, which our ears cannot directly catch:

There's a constant noise at 26khz in this song, which is possibly a power supply noise,.or light ballasts (florescent lights), or oscillators or switches in an equipment.

Wow, now the publishers willingly and knowingly distort the song by adding watermarks and disturbing the songs..

You pay for premium for streaming (or even buy songs from places like Qobuz), and you get a watermarked, washed away version of the songs that you've bee planning to listen.

Meanwhile, if you pirate the songs, you get a proper copy from a "clean source".
