@cleanycloth@mastodon.social AFAIK, Microsoft will still release updates for EOL Windows if it's desperately needed (i.e. with WannaCry because apparently parts of the NHS still ran on Windows XP well after its EOL)
@cleanycloth@mastodon.social It's understandable for absolute, worst-case scenarios like blocking illegal content, but blocking an entire instance for petty reasons is dumb and makes fediblocking an actual laughingstock.
There was a case when a lot of apps blocked Gab, who I imagine needs no introduction. Fedilab did this too, then revoked its block after Google basically confirmed it wouldn't block fediverse apps for letting Gab users connect via their app. It's like blaming every TweetDeck user for posting heinous content, it's that dumb. A lot of instances started looking at blocking Fedilab as a result.
We're seeing it again with Pleroma and its fork Soapbox/Rebased. Because it's mainly used by free-speech, edgy or right-wing instances, and in the case of Soapbox/Rebased its creator is actually in that crowd, some Mastodon instances will go out of their way to block instances using those by association. Mastodon.social thankfully doesn't do this AFAIK.
@cleanycloth@mastodon.social that's going to be chaotic. Some places are already blocking social.vivaldi.net (Vivaldi browser's official instance) because MUH CORPORATIONS. There's going to be a helluva lot of instances blocking Tumblr if they start federating.
If Twitter is seen as the town square, then the fediverse is an entire city, and much like a big city, with it you may or may not have to deal with some uncomfortable things.
I've been wanting a t-shirt like this ever since I was a teen, I saw AmazingPhil (British vlogger from the semi-early YouTube days) of all people wearing one. Gengar's a great Pokemon, and I love this sorta t-shirt design.
I have however seen this on Glitchwave, RateYourMusic's game database site. People saying that Naoto was written like shit because she ended up not being trans.
Thing is, Naoto had a lot of problems that weren't anything to do with gender dysphoria. Naoto's problems mainly stemmed from wanting to be taken seriously by her police force colleagues, and part of that was that women in the police force were considered lesser than their male counterparts (which was an issue in Japanese culture back then). Combine that with being like, 14-15 and her colleagues calling her a child, and you can understand why her story was written the way it was.
There's honestly nothing that wrong with Naoto's part of the P4 story and I'll stand by that.
@Nudhul@shitposter.club@PhenomX6@fedi.pawlicker.com wonder when they're going to influence a Brit to do the same to an NHS hospital. NHS England is moving away from gender-affirming care as well, probably one of the better decisions they've made lately tbh.
As much as I do hate some parts of RateYourMusic's community sometimes, the fact the site is still standing strong after what, two decades, says a lot. It would be a massive shame if the site died.
I've probably expanded and figured out my music tastes from RYM more than Spotify.
I was watching Don't Hug Me I'm Scared (the Channel 4 show, specifically) and honestly all I could think about was Red Guy thrusting and cumming inside my ass.
