I have however seen this on Glitchwave, RateYourMusic's game database site. People saying that Naoto was written like shit because she ended up not being trans.

Thing is, Naoto had a lot of problems that weren't anything to do with gender dysphoria. Naoto's problems mainly stemmed from wanting to be taken seriously by her police force colleagues, and part of that was that women in the police force were considered lesser than their male counterparts (which was an issue in Japanese culture back then). Combine that with being like, 14-15 and her colleagues calling her a child, and you can understand why her story was written the way it was.

There's honestly nothing that wrong with Naoto's part of the P4 story and I'll stand by that.
