@gamingonlinux - No matter which solution or setup I try, I cannot get battle.net or WoW to reliable run on my Linux Mint (Ubuntu) machine. Lutris, Proton, Winetricks, Wine, nada.

I'm stumped.

@janl I have personally flipped this facet with a number of mental health and medical health professionals.

They do not understand the leakage within the system, nor how these companies use that to circumvent their own terms and your privacy.

I now WELCOME inquiries around this stuff so I can show them the gaps in those contracts.

All in the hope they BEGIN to see their hiney has been out the window since they TOUCHED it.

We need more education. I'm thinking on how I can do my part.🖖

I spent 30 years trying to help get the translation layer in place; but no one is interested in semantics for standardization -- they all think they're innovating -- it's maddening.

Candidly? Most of this is self-inflicted by the industry.

Someone needs to rip out the mismatch so we can educate (the thing we should have done, never did, and now suffer for not doing).

It's never going to be easier than now, and that has been true since first said.

We do not need programming not be programming.

We DO need to understand that, quite literally, everything is code.

Not even programmers gets this yet, which is why they are terribad at translations between domains.

People like me are requisite until this changes, for all business and technology alike continue to insist on trying to eliminate us.

But we lack blocks for the commons to learn and grow from using. So that, too. Open systems not just open source.🪔

@alice It's a form of reverse coercion and should be cause for immediate banning. I don't know what it will take to get some of these humans to understand there's a really good reason to murder with prejudice "services" that make their name on the back of exclusionary convenience.

If they genuinely don't see it as an issue, let them say so publicly so I can adjust my instance residency sooner than later.
