“We’ve seen how this plays out. It's a big part of why he's cruel to other people—he needs to get there before the other person has a chance. But it’s also his Achilles’ heel. One of my fantasies is that, as we get closer to the election, we actually start counter-programming his rallies and have a massive group of people, equipped with large bowls of mashed potatoes, get inside his venue.”

@FlashMobOfOne @emarktaylor @cfb — Not really. We have depth at QB now. Good win for Mizzoo, though!
My first chance to say this in the new season: If the replay takes more than two minutes, it’s not “clear and obvious,” and the call on the field should stand. Let’s get on with the game, please.
Coach. Who else feels like hitting the blocking sled? #VoteBlue
@emarktaylor @nfl — I’m good with this choice.
@emarktaylor @nfl — Nix or Wilson?
@emarktaylor @nfl — No problem!
I think Nix has a decent arm, but many of his throws in Denver will likely be short- to mid-range, too. We’ll see how it goes — it can’t be worse than it’s been for the last nine years. 🤷♂️
I’ve rented since my divorce in 2007, but now we’re moving into a house, which leads to reexperiencing all the great moments of home ownership. Like this one:
Lori: "Would you change that light bulb on the back porch?"
Me: "Sure."
Sixty seconds later, STUNG IN THE FACE.
@charity_froggenhall @JustOneMoreThing — I use YouTubeTV, too, with RedZone. And you’re almost on the nose about the #NFL and cable companies. The league wants fans to have to access all of the league’s broadcast partners (keeps the rights fees higher), so the cost of NFL Ticket is designed to deter fans from buying it. (That came out during the recent class-action lawsuit.)
@JustOneMoreThing — The #NFL makes this hard to do (intentionally). The only way to watch every game live is to subscribe to YouTubeTV, then add on the NFL Ticket ($300-$350).
You could subscribe to the NFL app ($15/month), but you can only watch live games that are national and/or the local team (assuming no blackout). You can watch all games on delay.
There’s also #RedZone ($10/month). It skips around between games, but you see the important stuff.
Or learn to love the #Eagles. 😊
@emarktaylor @olympicschat — Nicely done, Mark. 😊
“Advance reader copies of Roberts’s book are already in the hands of reviewers, and Madeline Peltz of Media Matters is posting some of the content online. In it, she notes, Roberts ‘rails against birth control, in vitro fertilization, abortion, and dog parks. He says that having children should not be considered an “optional individual choice,” but a “social expectation,”’ and that reproductive choice is a ‘snake strangling the American family.’”
@Tim_Eagon @emarktaylor @tom @cfb — We’re sort of there already. State legislatures threaten the NCAA, and they back off. Example: Tennessee.
@jon — Mastodon training camp!
@jon — Holdouts!
Let’s put Simone Biles in the dunk contest. #Olympics #gymnastics #nba @nba
@emarktaylor @nba @olympicschat — I’ve never heard it called the Asymmetric Bars here. 🤷♂️
The USA team is pulling away in the fourth. Serbia just didn’t hit open shots when Joker passed out of double teams. Meanwhile, KD and LeBron are shooting out of their minds. Impressive performance by the Americans.
@emarktaylor — No #Ledecky for Katie, but there more chances.
