With all due respect to your point of view, the reality on the ground is quite differentMost large organizations and institutions don't reach us with their aid, and people here live below the extreme poverty line and are in dire need of everything. Given this reality, direct communication with individuals in need is the only safest and most reliable way to ensure that support reaches those who truly deserve it, because any third party might not deliver aid to those who need it most.

Let me give you a real-life example from my own experience: I underwent eye surgery a week ago due to an injury, and I had to pay for it myself despite the existence of organizations that are supposed to receive donations specifically for us. The truth is, this aid rarely reaches those who need it. In fact, if it weren't for the intervention of people here on the Mastodon platform, their direct communication with me, and their support, I wouldn't have been able to have that surgery -

even now.I haven't been able to undergo that procedure yet. I'm now in a critical stage where I need medication and post-operative medical care, and I can't afford anything. Therefore, direct communication with individuals in need is the most transparent and reliable way to ensure donations reach those who truly need them. . -

I didn't mean to put pressure on you personally. Our suffering here doesn't mean we should ignore the suffering of our people in the camps in Lebanon or elsewhere; we are all in the same boat. What I wanted to clarify is that the situation in the Gaza Strip right now, based on my personal experience, has reached a point where large-scale institutional aid is almost completely cut off or unable to reach us, making direct, individual solidarity the only option for many to survive. -

With all due respect to your role and perspective, the picture you're conveying regarding UNRWA's continued operation doesn't reflect our current reality in the Gaza Strip. The harsh truth is that UNRWA has been isolated and its operations almost entirely undermined in the Strip, and it's no longer able to provide the essential services upon which people's lives depended. -

To rely on the notion that international organizations are fulfilling their role while we here face death from starvation or lack of medical treatment ignores the harsh reality on the ground. UNRWA abroad may have administrative roles, but here in Gaza, the organization is completely paralyzed in its distribution and access efforts. . -

What you said about the agricultural lands is absolutely accurate; the majority of our food supply used to come from the east, the areas that are now behind what is called the 'yellow line' or buffer zones, where the land is razed and access is prohibited. I personally used to live in eastern Gaza, and now, like thousands of others, I am displaced, far from my home and our land that was a source of prosperity. -

farming faces the risk of being directly targeted All we see in the pictures is rubble, because agriculture itself is buried under the rubble. We have lost the soil, the water, and the tools that once made Gaza self-sufficient in certain crops. The truth is that Gaza has transformed from a productive society into one that survives on handouts, delivered by trucks with no guarantee that they will reach the mouths of the hungry. -

The situation on the ground is one of complete paralysis. The aid that enters covers only a tiny fraction of the basic needs, and Israeli restrictions are not merely a ban on the entry of specific materials, but rather a total control over the lifelines (fuel, roads, and electricity).
As for agriculture, it has been reduced from a vital sector to virtually nonexistent; farmland has been bulldozed or contaminated, and anyone who ventures into -

Your friend Rania's story is the story of thousands of us. It's never easy to learn that the place where you spent your best days, the land you cultivated with your own hands, is now behind a wall, a tank, or a pile of rubble; as if history and geography have been completely erased. This kind of loss leaves a scar that never heals, because we don't just weep for walls, but for a life that once thrived in those places. -

I simply wanted to convey this image from the heart of the suffering, because sometimes the reports that reach donors do not reflect the full picture of what is happening on the ground. -

While millions of meals are being discussed, many displaced people like myself still lack access to even the most basic daily food necessities. These figures seem far removed from our reality on the ground, where roads are blocked, fuel is scarce, and strict restrictions make aid access to us rare, if not impossible. -

Thank you for sharing this information. It's striking to see these huge numbers in international reports, but the reality for me and those around me in our daily lives is that we haven't received any of this aid. There's a terrifying gap between what's reported and what actually reaches people in the areas of greatest need.

I myself am injured, and in Gaza today, everything has a price tag; they demand payment for every medical procedure, for surgeries, even for treatment. I literally own nothing, and many resources don't reach those who need them, but are lost in the labyrinth of the black market or sold at exorbitant prices. I simply wanted to convey this picture to you from the heart of the suffering, because reports don't always reflect the bitter -

"That's right. It's unfortunate that demanding the right to life or rejecting genocide has become a subject of debate or a 'point of view' that needs evidence. As someone from Gaza, I'm not putting forward a political point of view; I'm conveying a reality that affects our daily existence. If this needs explaining, the problem isn't with the argument, but with the lack of basic humanity on the other side."
