As you may have heard in other anime-related communities, Discord is adopting a far stricter approach to Anicord servers in regards to copyright infringement, and they are particularly cracking down on the sharing of manga links (official or otherwise), manga panels, GIFs (even ones that show up in Discord search), and other related content such as anime watch parties. Precedents have been set with several popular, high-profile Discord servers being removed from the platform after members received copyright infringement strikes on their Discord accounts for the aforementioned materials, some even for messages sent 5+ years ago (this includes, in order: Witch Hat Atelier, Kagurabachi, Oshi no Ko, Blue Lock). Discord performs these server removals without any prior communication or warning.
As representatives of a high-profile Anicord server, we have determined that we are at VERY HIGH risk of being the next target, and thus we are deleting and remaking EVERY channel in the server to wipe the server of all potential copyrighted material and subsequently all six years of history we have shared together in this community. After the rework, image perms will be disabled.
TL;DR: Discord has begun cracking down, more aggressively on copyright infringed contents that’s available on various public communities (a.k.a. “servers”), and begun taking down most of them with zero notices.
