@alex Considering that this is backed by sqlite, but without the ability to store structured data (JSON.stringify doesn't count lol), it's not that great unless they revive WebSQL. And Python also has the sqlite3 module built in unless your distro splits it up.

@alex that's static site generation (SSG), not server side rendering (SSR). SSG is when content is statically generated at build time. SSR is when you run JS on the server to fetch content at runtime, and generate the HTML server side with no JS sent to client (unless you are hydrating it later, but that's a different convo).

Because soapbox is a client-side rendered SPA that is getting content over an API from the rebased backend, there should be no SSR here at all.

@alex I'm curious about the choice of Next.js.

Next.js is a great framework for complete applications where you are rendering pages by pulling from a database, but this appears to be a marketing website with blog posts that are generated from static markdown. It shouldn't be shipping any JS to the client at all, but a quick glance shows almost 300 kB.

Perhaps a static site generator like Astro, 11ty or Hugo would be a better choice?

Why don't we just ignore the fact that most people view Nationalism with repulsion? Why don't we just ignore the fact that 90%+ of the world lives in a total fantasy land?

We HAVE to get people to change their minds about things that are as fundamental to their identities as their faiths. And the way we do that is by being right about everything and making solid arguments.

I've never been particularly religious, and I was drawn to White Nationalism because I recognized that it's the only ideology that aligns itself with nature. I'm perfectly willing to work with people that are religious and believe different things than me. What I am not willing to put up with is making retarded nonsense that is unaligned with the natural world the face of our movement.
