i've found it remarkable how some folks in the academic community (esp) really don't seem open to the idea that LLMs can actually be useful … it's just on the surface clearly the case that they can be useful. and the fascinating part of it is figuring out how and when they are (and aren't)

@sam no idea what would work, you might try, "This is incorrectly coded, it's a bug. I'm not sure why you would bother a screen reader user with reproducing an obvious error in the code."

lol, this hour on my calendar…

today, i got an email from Apple, telling me that a subscription I had purchased that I no longer want was going to automatically renew, with a clear link to cancel. STRANGELY, subscriptions purchased outside of Apple never let me know this or make it easy to cancel.

i don't like computational notebooks, there i said it.

we need one of those funny meme graphics describing the kinds of people who join different kinds of mastodon instances… e.g.,
- mastodon.social
- area one, e.g., hci.social or vis.social
- ppl joining ACM one
- ppl who have an actual hobby other than computer stuff that has an instance
- hosts their own instance, jbigham.toot or whatever

the two hardest problems in computer science are: (i) people, (ii) convincing computer scientists that people are the hardest problem, (vi) asynchronous programming, and (iii) off by one errors
