@apps If it's the crash I've hit recently, it was when tapping a notification in Android 11 for an account *other* than the one that was most recently selected in the UI. The "Now works with..." toast appears, the UI briefly appears, then I'm back at the home screen.
@chjara@marczak When this model of adapter first came out, it was actually a new development.
Older gender changer adapters were much more bulky by comparison, usually two connectors in a shell an inch or so long with wires in between each pin crossing over each other in between.
This newer (as of the late 1980s, IIRC) model instead did the trick by rotating one of the connectors 180° so that the pins are actually just solid, unsheathed wire straight through the adapter with two 90° bends in it. This kept pin 1 at the same end of both connectors (no wires crossing over each other) and zigzagged the solid pin inserts back and forth.
Yeah, seems obvious in hindsight, but it wasn't at the time 🤷
@forteller Unfortunately you can't remove them entirely, but:
* They will no longer be visible to other users on your server
* A server that hasn't yet fetched your post won't see replies from blocked folks (does not apply to domain blocks, which are actually more like "mute" in this context)
It's a little more complicated than that even — servers can also make replies from blocked people disappear later for other reasons — but the bottom line is that blocking those people *does* reduce their visibility on any past posts, even on remote servers.
For instance, I can't see any replies on your post with Radcliffe from any account I have right now (including half a dozen placeholder accounts on various servers)
I know there is a lot of corporate alienation on the #fediverse, especially the concept of a large social space like #Tumblr federating.
GTalk openly federated with XMPP for a while. I know of no one who continued to use GTalk after they announced federation being sunset.
Basically I don't see everyone flocking to the corporate option just because it interoperates. I *detest* Tumblr's UX/UI, but I'd love to interact with folks there.
