I do have a multi-monitor setup with two hosts and I need both, HDMI and DP, because each TFT has those two inputs (and DP daisy-chaining isn't working here) and the hosts do have one HDMI and one DP output each.

I personally would prefer both connector/protocol standards to die and use any USB-C-based connection instead with whatever protocol that works (also with FOSS).

Then it needs to be a different protocol - I don't really care as long as it works and it's available for FOSS.

Currently, I'm using lenovo t490 -TB/USB-C-> TB3 doch -HDMI/DP-> 2 TFTs. An additional desktop is also connecting the other two DP/HDMI plugs. As long as the TFTs don't offer more DP inputs or multi-TB-USB-C in parallel, I rely on whatever connector they offer.

However, as long as you don't control 100% of all file names yourself by renaming them, you certainly should learn how to write scripts which can deal with spaces and special characters anyway. YMMV.

@bun @feld If there is any (internal) trust connection between #Microsoft and #GitHub, the incident does affect both.

And I do think that this is very likely the case.

After basically the whole #Microsoft #Azure cloud was hacked (see list of related sources on https://karl-voit.at/cloud/ ), the first follow-up incidents went public caused by missing containment actions:

If you didn't understand until now: basically EVERYTHING at Microsoft got hacked and Microsoft can't (or won't) get rid of the intruders. Everything authenticated by Microsoft is tainted. Even #Windows auth.

I avoided spaces and used 7 Bit ASCII myself for many years.

Since probably a decade, I don't see any issue with spaces. I even started to embrace German Umlaute like äöü or ß without noticing any issue. Even zsh completion is working perfectly fine with those characters. 🤷

By coincidence, we saw the movie by #OliverStone today. If you haven't seen it, watch it.

I'm afraid not much has changed since then in general. Except, https has surpassed http (unencrypted web traffic), which is awesome. Let's continue this improvement!
