I remember the culture shock moving from NYC to LA.

I'll add to the chorus. This happened to me as well. A domain I'd paid $20k for up in smoke. That's more than a decade ago, and I'm still mad about it. Especially since the person they transferred it to is just squatting on it.

I don't have a good answer for you. I currently have all my domains on Network Solutions, but I hate them, too. Wish I could say better.

I'm currently reading Frank Herbert's "Dune" for the first time.

I was struck by this passage. It comes right after the Reverend Mother has tested Paul Atreides. She is talking with him.

I was homeless for a while. It was a long time ago, but it never leaves me.

To register for some things, you have to prove you're a local resident. Usually they require a utility bill or a bank statement with a local address. Homeless people don't have that.

Not a "resident" of this county? Not eligible for services.

There's much, much more, but I don't want to dilute your post.

We're 90 minutes south, in Rochester. I'll check with you closer to October, and if we're in-country, we'll drive up and snack to oblivion.
