Due to.. well, history, the differences are very very stark.

@FranceskaMann @GreenSkyOverMe @mkj it goes for just about any Eastern European country in rural areas, while the cities have usually experienced great improvements. Her neighbours still ride on a horse carriage and work the farm just by hand. Of course this particular issue is quite prominent in most countries today, but I'd say that the rapid capitalisation of the post-communist states left the rural areas even more behind and the new states haven't been able to subsidise them as much.
