I am extremely grateful for the great work of @mailbox_org @threemaapp @signalapp @nextcloud @openstreetmap @mullvadnet and all the others that fight for #sovereignty and against #bigtech. The #unplugtrump movement would not be possible without you.

You have been at this for years, and I just opened my eyes a few months ago.

On the other hand, I am quite angry about #palantir, #facebook, and other Trojan horses undermining our free democracy. If we don't make a stand and get our shit together, this won't end well.

And lastly I am disappointed in our collective complacency as a society - especially us Europeans.

While I now try to educate my family and peers, I just sound like a nut job to them - like a militant vegan or a #klimakleber trying to warn the about micro plastic in their brain. Everyone just shrugs like there is nothing we can do.

We must get our shit together.

@GreenSkyOverMe I am using Mailbox.org here but NextCloud would work just as well. Both support the open standards CalDAV and CardDAV. To sync to my phone I use DAVx5 installed for free via F-Droid. On my desktop I am using Thunderbird to then sync the calendar and contacts.

Looking back over the last 6 months I have done a lot for my personal digital detox and #sovereignty - with a healthy mix of #BoycottAmerica and #BuyFromEU

I moved my mails, contacts, calendars, maps, photos, switched browsers, got a VPN, adopted new messengers, dropped PayPal, Netflix, Amazon, Dropbox, ChatGPT, ...

I am now both super grateful and super angry.
