Just sharing something I learned a bit ago

I think everybody knows the “Bliss” wallpaper from Windows XP.

The original photo was taken by Charles O’Rear on medium format color reversal (slide) film, specifically Fujifilm Velvia 50. He shot it on a Mamiya RZ67.

The first image is the original. The second is the version that shipped with Windows XP.

We found out that Liz’s severance package is three weeks of pay. The offboarding HR employee said three months and it turns out that was wrong.

We need help affording rent and food while looking for work. It’s quite an acute crisis and the next month or two may be make-or-break.

If we lose our place, there’s likely nowhere for us to fall back to, and trying to keep our cat in the car with us will become a necessary nightmare.
