I always knew lawn care would kill the human race. And now we have proof.

I'd like to think even the batteries are evil now. Just sitting there, suffocating in their little plastic clamshell packages, seething with murderous rage.

Gonna sit here and wait for people to look up what it takes to actually manufacture estradiol from first principles.

One of the frustrating points that article made is that as Atreyu nearly did not make it through the Sphinxes toward the Southern Oracle, and thus he is an "unworthy hero".
Excuse me, just how far up Plato's ass are you right now?
The hero harboring reasonable self doubts in the face of challenge and consequences is *good*. It shows that even those we idealize have those moments of doubt; it's not that they don't fear, it's that they still do the thing anyways despite the fear.

The other point the article makes is how the Sphinxes are bare breasted.
Dude. My sibling in film. Have you ever seen historical renderings of sphinxes? The fact the prop designers went to the effort to reference that is a point in the film's favor.
Also, this was a *German* production, not an American one, you pearl clutching, Victorian moralist.

Why send a single, highly trained, adaptable human when we can send a highly technical patchwork cyborg the crashes mid-interview?

You know what, no. I'm not going to reflect on that.
I'm going to put on Star Trek 5 and kill some brain cells.
