Although Rachel is still quite distant, winds are picking up a bit here in South Park.

And the clouds are thickening...it's getting dark. Radar shows early bands heading our way.

Just got a notice about a women's protest against sexual violence. The notice was from a women in law group.

It's tomorrow at noon.

Seriously, people...if you want turnout you can't do this shit at the last minute*. How many attorneys do you think will be able to arrange their schedules to make that?

@blogdiva I agree that is often a factor, but it doesn't seem to be here. Parents all living, siblings, etc.

@blogdiva There is an IRS rule that if you make a loan, even within family, that is below a certain interest rate, there is a tax liability. That is, the person making the loan may have to pay a gift tax AND tax on the difference between the interest they charged and the interest they should have charged.

I wonder how people do it. I have neighbors who, in 5 years, have bought:
2 new EVs
fancy E-bike
trips to Europe every summer
new roof + solar

Also, he's had cardiac surgery and she had/beat s.4 breast cancer. They have 2 young kids I assume they are planning on sending to college some day. They work in k-12 ed (one private one public).

Now talking about a new kitchen. Pretty sure neither comes from money so I'm baffled at how they do this.

I have been deeply in my own (dark) head today and it only just dawned on me that it's a friend's bday. So, I sent him a happy text about it and, you know, it probably did me more good than him. So weird how that works.

Am I cured? Nope. But I feel better.

I wasn’t supposed to host at sangha today, but the other host was very late so I did. Worked out well since he will do next week instead and now I don’t have to worry about being sick after my Covid shot this Friday. I mean, I will likely be fine by Sunday, but I was already fretting about it.

Someone in the military housing nearby just got a new crotchrocket and it is the loudest damn motorcycle I have ever heard. Worse than the stupid HD with the ape hangers another of his ilk rides.

As a fellow rider, I really want to just bitchslap these people.
