Good morning tooters. Quite a pleasant 5c morning but there is some rain forecast for later today but it’s only getting up to cool 12c today. Had another lovely restful sleep last night, not quite as long as the previous night but 7.45 hrs is pretty credible. I must be really needing it as I was very tired & could barely keep my eyes open when I went to bed. I’ve started replacing my freezer meals & stocks but nothing is finished & ready to go in there. I cooked a chook up yesterday afternoon & will remove the meat off the bone & use the bones with veg for my stock today. I also cooked a marinated strip loin, cut into 3 pieces with veg & will freeze the excess to give two meals to me. The chicken will also give me 2 or 3 freezer meals & I have mince to make spag bol & chilli con carne over the next few days. Build it all up again for use when I house sit. I’ve decided I want to go for a walk around the river today, my happy place. I’ll start my more formal at home exercise classes tomorrow. I feel like things are getting back to normal or as near as damnit. Have a terrific #Tuesday everyone, it’s payday for me 😃. Stay warm out there 🌻. #Weather#AussieWinter#Cooking#Exercise#RiverWalk.
Good morning tooters. It was almost frosty in my garden today & also an almost zero degree start, but the sun is up now & will be creeping through my garden soon. I can see a distant tv aerial on a house in the next street with barely a perching place left from all the pigeons on it. It is going to be another beautiful sunny ☀️ 15c day today which is great. #BonnieTheDogNextDoor woke me up a number of times barking during the night. By 4am I’d had enough & got up, opened the lounge window & told her off. It shut her up for a couple of hours anyway. Today I am planning a lovely Balance class before I go down the street for a few necessities, like cheese 🧀 - very important. Then the rest of the day is just doing little jobs around the place. I have a final picture that I took on my last morning in Chiltern that I think is awesome. A branch was cut off a tree & it looks like the cut is rimmed with ice, but is actually light coloured sap. Have a great #Friday everyone, stay warm out there 🌻. #Weather#AussieWinter#Exercise
Good morning Fedi friends. Unsurprisingly after my big walk yesterday I slept in a little & as I have nothing major on today - I’m in dawdle mode 😁. It was nearly 12c when I got up at nearly 7am & it’s only going to rise another couple of degrees today to 14c. Funnily enough I don’t have the heater on at all, I’m as warm as toast. We had a pretty good storm go through during the night, I don’t know how much, but it was very heavy & for the first time since I my flooding issues - I didn’t wake & worry. I know I’ve done all I personally can to mitigate future problems. Not fully fixed, but it’s ok. I told myself last night that if I woke up feeling good this morning I would do a pump class for my exercise & I woke up feeling good, so guess what I’m doing once I’m showered. I’m going to have to reduce the weights & I know my muscles will feel it tomorrow as it’s been a while but that’s ok. I’m looking forward to seeing how I go. Hope everyone has a wonderful #Friday, stay dry & stay warm - I’m staying home 😁🌻. #Weather#Exercise#FeelingGood.
Good morning tooters. It’s about 8c here this morning due to the low cloud holding in a little warmth & again the temps will only get to 17c with some rain forecast for the afternoon. I’m going home this morning & I didn’t sleep very soundly last night. The mattress on my bed is a very firm one that my joints don’t really like, so tossing & turning as areas became sore. Had a lovely day down in Rutherglen with my friend yesterday, we walked the main street of town & down a few side streets, into the park & walked around the lake, which is a lovely area that I’ve never seen before. I took a picture of a sculpture there that represents the lake & on the reverse side is the word lake in numerous languages, it’s lovely. Taking my fur charges off for a walk as soon as I’m showered & then back here to pack up, clean up & head home hopefully by around lunch time. Back here again in 5 weeks 😊. Enjoy your #Sunday everyone, have a great day 🌻. #Weather#HouseSit#PetSit#DayTrip#Rutherglen
Good morning tooters. It was another warm night & 13c when I got up. Today it’s supposed to reach 19c. We are definitely heading towards winter now with the temps staying below 20c. There is still some rain around & it is very wet outside but there are patches of blue sky to be seen so I’m hoping for some sunshine later. Heaps of feijoas this morning. I picked up around 16 so far this morning and I still haven’t got the dehydrator working yet although I have done the pre heating to remove any smells etc. There’s going to be an ongoing noise in the background once I fill it & having it going In my little unit I know the noise will annoy me as it’ll be going for 12-15+ hours & probably overnight. So I’m going to set it up in the spare bedroom & I can shut the door, open the window a bit & just let it do its job. I’ve baked bread this morning as well. Not my best effort, it has a big dent in the middle, that won’t matter it’ll still be edible. Now I’m going to shower, do a Yin yoga class as my back is touchy, then head out for a haircut & prepare the feijoas to dehydrate when I get home. My day sorted 😁. Hope everyone has a great #Tuesday, stay safe & dry out there 🌻. #Weather#HomeGrown#Feijoa#Sourdough.
Well that was a morning & a half. First up when I went to leave to meet my friend for our walk, the car wouldn’t start & the Qashqai is nothing like my old very basic simple non computerised car & I don’t know what’s happening. I rang my friend to tell her I can’t meet her & why & then ring the RACV. They will be 15mins, which they were. A very nice man checks it out & tells me it’s just the battery & he will replace it for me which he then did. Then my friend rings to see how I’m getting on & I tell her that the car is now going & she asks if I still want a walk. Which I do - absolutely I do! So we finally get our walk around 11am & I arrive home in time for a late lunch. It was a lovely walk as well & saw this furry 👇🏼old fella totally unbothered by us walking past him🦘. Life doesn’t always go to plan, but it all worked out in the end. #Kangaroo#RiverWalk#Exercise
Good morning Fedi friends & it’s a muggy grey & warm morning of 19c with 95% humidity. It won’t be getting much warmer either as it’s forecast to only reach 23c & the rain is supposed to be clearing by this evening. It’s been good soaking rain & not a deluge & my garden & I appreciate it. Something odd going on with him next door. He went out at 5.30am & came back at 6am driving up the driveway in his big ute & it is still parked in the driveway with the drivers side door wide open 🤷🏼♀️. While he & I don’t get on & I won’t engage with him generally. This is very unusual & I hope all is ok as he’s rarely blocking the driveway for anything more than about 15mins nowadays - unlike some years ago when I was forever asking him to move so I could go out. Which if he’s still there in an hour I’ll have to do 😏. I hate having to deal with these things, it spikes my anxiety. Simple day today, no swimming unfortunately as I want a haircut if I can, also a spot of grocery shopping, just stocking up on my essentials & then to Bunnings for potting mix & maybe a plant or two - I do love payday 😁. Hope you all have a happy #Tuesday, stay safe out there 🌻. #Weather#Neighbour
Good morning tooters. It was 20c when I got up today, double what it was yesterday morning & today we’re supposed to get to 29c with rain to come, but as I well know that doesn’t always happen. Up, dressed & out of the door with the dogs by 6am again & it is a lovely morning today. Home again & it involves getting breakfast for the dogs, then the cat & finally the chooks - then I can make my own, wholemeal crumpets with butter & Vegemite- yummy & which I’m now finishing along with a coffee. I came across an apple tree while walking that was laden with red apple’s & leaning over the fence, so I picked one - I want one of these apple trees, delicious & a gorgeous pink inside. The garden it was in also had persimmons, quinces & an almond. There was probably more but I definitely focused on the apple. I’m off for a shower & will then take another walk to catch up with my friend who lives not far away. Wishing you all a wonderful #Sunday, have a happy day 🌻. #Weather#AussieSummer#Exercise#HouseSit#PetSit#Apple#Kangaroos
Good morning tooters. It’s a beautiful bright sunny day outside. Up early as usual & it was a lovely 15c, the door & windows are wide open to catch the breeze. Today we’re heading to another hot 37c so I’ve already done a number of jobs before it gets too warm. I’ve already stripped & remade the bed, washed all the sheets & have them on the line. I’ve given the garden a really good watering again. I had thought to head to the pool for a swim but there’s a full day school, all lanes swim carnival on. Damnit! So I’m thinking of doing a Balance class today instead. Of course I could do housework, but that’s not fun 😬. Time to get organised for my day, hope you all have a lovely #Friday, stay cool out there 🌻. #Weather#Exercise
Doing sun salutations & I open my eyes as I look up to see a huntsman watching me 😳 eeeek. Class put on pause while I deal with that & my racing heart when I’m supposed to be calm. Carried on with my class to its end & enjoyed 10 minutes of relaxation & mindfulness & I hear a line I love - the Art of Not Doing! Something we all need to learn in our busy world. #Exercise#Balance#Mindfulness#Calm
Good morning tooters & it is a beautifully cool morning at that, I’d like it to stay that way but know it’s going to warm up again soon. The BOM said it was 17c when I got up but it was most definitely cooler than that with the breeze blowing & suited me perfectly. We’re heading to a sunny& warm 31c. I’ve watered the garden thoroughly, my transplanted Crepe Myrtle is definitely dying, it’s really doing nothing now & the leaves left on it are very dry. It’ll come out during the week. Saying that - the little Dogwood has easily grown about 30cm i think. It was about up to my waist when I planted it & is now up to my neck. Very pleased with it. I’ve had my breakfast & done my washing, still need to hang it out though & then I plan on doing a Les Mills Thrive class. Later this morning I’m meeting a friend & we are going to the movies to see Choral. It’s my friends pick & I don’t know much about it except it’s set during WW1. I’m sure I’ll enjoy it, I haven’t been to the movies in such a long time. Hope you all have a wonderful #Sunday, enjoy your day & hope it’s not too hot, nor too wet where you are 🌻. #Weather#Garden#Exercise#Movies.
‘Tis me in all my crinkly grey haired glory holding the naughty runaway, Ebby. Last night in Chiltern before I head home. My daughter, partner & the kids dropped down to visit for a couple of hours. I haven’t seen them since just before Christmas when I came out here.
I’ve noticed over the last few aged pension payments that it has gone up a little each time. Today’s pension was more a jump - it’s gone up over $30 in total. Doesn’t seem much in the scheme of things, but it is when I look at what it does for me. It’s more than my weekly petrol use or a quarter of my average grocery bill. It’s a lunch out occasionally, it’s a birthday gift for a grandchild, it’s something extra for my garden, or I can add it to savings. I’m happy with that! #AgedPension
It’s not just Facebook, it’s all social media & I hate it. Free speech is all well & good but it should come with responsibility but with the advent of so many billionaire owned platforms they’ve taken no responsibility. #AusPol
Still learning…but this is me. Love physical exercise like yoga 🧘🏼♀️ pilates or balance 🤸🏼♂️plus a bit of pump 🏋🏼♀️ but also happy to just walk 🚶♀️ I believe we’ve lost our way when it comes to food & am a proponent of J.E.R.F. Just Eat Real Food & very little processed or packaged food. Love my garden, especially when I grow my own produce. Not very good at it, but that’s ok. At 73 life is pretty damned good, healthier than I was 30yrs ago & intend to stay that way for as long as I can. Wiradjuri country.
