I use the my noise app and have done so for a long time. Has hundreds of cool soundscapes and randomized music for noise masking and relaxation. The dev totally redesigned the app about a year ago and the accessibility was so bad that the dev was nice enough to point me to the old app which they kept on the store. Wrote up a report to see if the guy could fix it to make it possible for us to change volumes of the 10 tracks etc. and use prefixes. Hadn't tried the new version in a while and surprisingly, it's been made way more accessible and all the things I asked about have been fixed. All sliders are labelled and draggable, no buttons are unlabelland. In the old app, you could adjust the soundscape, but you never used to know what you were adjusting. Goes to show you that some developers care, listen, and improve. Some don't for sure, many don't actually, but it's nice when they do. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mynoise-the-soundscape-app/id1523675125
Tonight I read part of one of the chapters of the wandering in that I am woefully behind on. The difference was that I was reading it in multi line braille, something that I’ve never done on any device really. Connection to the dot pad was simple, but using their drawing app after you’ve connected to voiceover is really quite dumb. I also found that I really suck at drawing. But reading even on a small, relatively small that is, surface that is basically like half of a sheet of paper was much more useful than I thought it would be. It felt natural and it didn’t really hurt my elbow like reading on a single line display does. I might actually do it more, and the way that it refreshes things, even though it takes maybe a second to refresh the whole page, if you started the top left, you don’t miss anything at all. This is going to be revolutionary, and as the technology improves I hope that it becomes available in larger sizes and lower prices so that others can enjoy this amazing experience. Thanks to ATT guys for getting it to me quickly. Now I get to code support for it into my application.
I haven't tested it yet, but you all should be seeing a new Adobe release which fixes the issue we saw last month. Please let me know if form filling in pdf forms is back to it's usual, and if not working send me your adobe version via help about. Applies to Acrobat and Reader. Boost please if you will as I will pass along any issues post update to Adobe. Thanks.
Friends, if you use Adobe to fill out forms with assistive tech like JAWS or NVDA, do not update to the December Reader or Acrobat version. made life at work a freaking nightmare. Turn off auto update or try to get a previously working version to manually install.
I know that I could search via Google and figure out a solution for a problem. I just used ChatGPT to brainstorm ideas for audio, mixing and products that would be best for my use case, and then once I had purchased the requisite audio equipment, I had ChatGPT refer to the previous conversation and tell me how to set up the audience Evo eight properly based on our discussion. this thing is getting scary Good at having logical brainstorming and or configuration conversations. I know it may seem kind of freaky that it remembers things, but in my case, it has been very helpful.
Submitted next lesson in my nls transcriber course. We are not doing contractions yet so I can’t compare how much space is saved using bana. Gotta suck it up and make it happen. I have a job due mid April and unless I’m told differently it’ll be UEB or bust.
@Fragglemuppet If they are squeamish to violence or language then no. Otherwise it’s one of the best of this type ive ever read. For a read without that kinda stuff, Wandering Inn tops it for me. It’s almost a never ending story. Web has over 10 million words. 14 books I think are on audible of Wandering Inn.
@Fragglemuppet You need to define keyboard shortcuts. It’s gotta ton of them and they’re not defined out of the box. Their philosophy is “the user can decide how it’s configured”. Once it’s set up like you want it, it’s amazing and powerful.
