WANTED: Intel Architecture Labs 1990’s CD-ROM’s. They appear to have maybe been monthly. They contained a mirror of Intel’s ‘download.intel.com’ ftp server, specifically the /ial/ subdirectory which is not in the 2014 backup of the site on archive.org.
Lots and lots of white papers and design guideline documents in there. Especially looking for ones from the late 1990’s (1998-ish onward) if they exist. I’ve seen references in mailing lists to them that lead me to believe they do. Example gem: intel trying to cover its ass after the FDIV bug, and have some more FDIV
> i disagree here, apple's laptops have like one or two ports, and dongles are big, unwieldy, and you basically need to settle at a desk and set them up every time
I disagree with your disagreement because USB-C-to-<x> adapters are still USB-C-to-<x> adapters whether they are flush with the case or not. Also there's quite often enough room on the face of these ""cards"" (flush mounted dongles) that more I/O could have been provided than actually was. The headphone adapter for instance could easily have also fit a pass-through USB connector/hubbed connector as well, or much more simply just a line input TRS connector
The point about not having as many ports may be true but that's not why people call the mac a donglebook, they call it a donglebook because all I/O is just USB C ports.
me: 'hi, just here to let you know framework laptops are utter trash donglebooks that fix exactly one of the dozens of problems that plague modern laptops that you've fallen for the marketing for'
@foone try my site if you feel like it; i'm curious how that version of netscape handles it. especially the larger blog pages it currently has been tested in IE 5 but nothing older than that and seamonkey 1.x http://megatokyo.moe/blog/011_012.html
“The Amiga expects ‘byte swapped’ images” no; emulators expect byte swapped images. As in, you dump a rom and then you need to byte swap it for emulators to be able to use it. The fact that swapping the bytes renders ASCII strings legible does not change how they are stored on the hardware.
This is a placeholder bio for the moment but i'm @wyatt8740@tech.lgbt . It's probably a good idea to follow me here if you follow me there.I'm migrating from tech.lgbt I think.
