I have a question for the experienced linux people on here. How important is the swap partition in 2025 if my machine has over 30G of RAM and I have plans to upgrade the RAM in the future.

I've already deleted it to expand my home partition, and haven't noticed any performance issues, yet. But is there something I'm missing?

Funny enough, I just made a post on my personal site about getting lists of RSS feeds and suggesting some feed readers. Sharing free content far an wide is a solved problem with RSS. It also has the added benefit of the author continuing to OWN THEIR FUCKING COPYRIGHT, something they give up once they post it on the various corporate platforms.

I wish more people spent the time to build blogs for the content and then link to it with teasers on the corpSM.

@helenczerski I assume you’ve heard of this project - https://metals.co/nori/ and how they’ve partnered with a tiny ocean nation that was basically destroyed from mining and left with nothing.

Now they want to scrap the ocean floor for nodules that have rare metals.

It’s a bad idea and with all luck will fail.

I seem to remember a recent study showed that the nodules are active components in the ocean for oxygen creation, but can’t find a link to the study at the moment.

@aral I've been anxiously awaiting this election for at least 6 months, and telling anyone that listens that this is the most important election of 2023. My hope is that the disasterous earthquake response a few months ago have shaken some people from there need to vote for him, and enough strategically vote against him.
