I have completed my first #embroidery project. My wife got me this for my birthday because I wanted to learn some basic stitches to use for mending. The shop was going out of business so there were several sets on sale, and this one had a good variety of stitches (satin, back, lazy daisy, and double-wrapped French knot). I freehanded my initials, and I think they turned out okay.

1. A circular hoop with white cloth stretched inside it. In the middle it says "Choose HAPPY" in green back stitch for the first word and red satin stitch for the second. Around the words are leaves of varying shades of green and flowers in purples, reds, and yellows. A small green JVB is stitched along a leaf at the bottom.

1. A barrel cactus cluster in a xeroscaped yard. The tallest arm has a big flower bud (the size of some of the smaller arms). The flower is almost ready to open, with lines of its white interior showing through the dark red exterior.

I have happened into a large bag of chickpea flour. If anyone has recipes for things they like to do with that, please share!
