If you don’t have claw marks and scratches on your legs and arms, and raw hands that are completely covered in fur, have you even spent any quality time with your cat?

Electron except it's Lua/LuaJIT or another pleasant scripting language and most of the HTML/CSS complexities are gone but Web API's still remain and the size of a bundled app is like 20 times smaller at least and resource usage is also low and accessibility is still just as good.

Had a little downtime, so made a little engine sound experiment using Web Audio API.
7 Oscillators, a wave shaper, and two filters.
Still playing with it, but I think it sounds pretty neat.
The things I do to procrastinate working on actual projects...

I only played with this for maybe 10 minutes or so. So if I took more time, I could probably get it to sound better. It definitely needs more sculpting. But a lot of it is quite configurable. Maybe I'll drop it somewhere if people want to mess with it.

There's still some issues. For example I'm pretty sure something with my distortion calculations is slightly off, because it crackles quite a bit when it changes. But adding or removing harmonics is pretty easy, and setting the harmonic multipliers is too, so you can get quite a variety out of it. Maybe a convolver or something to get it to sound better as well, it sounds very dry and unrealistic without it. If I'm bored I might add all that.

And it's not much code at all. Maybe about 160 lines? This is why I love the web audio API. Seriously. It is epic. It has no right being this good, and I'm really not sure why it's in a browser. But I'm not complaining.

Do we have a web audio API equivalent but not for the browser? And I do mean both equally powerful but also easy to use?

How I used to stay up for days at a time I will never understand. Nowadays I’ll take literally any excuse.

Accidentally slept for 11 hours. Maybe a bit more. My body's like yeah so that thing you did? You might've felt fine, but I didn't like it. At all. Let this be a warning. I can turn everything off for a day and trust me, I will.

These are not the wings I’d ideally want to be flying on, but flying I am nonetheless.

I really appreciate how easy the WiFi is to use here. No entering weird info. No captchas. You just click connect and it does. Nice and refreshing.

That disconcerting feeling when you pack up at the end of a vacation only to realize that somehow everything fits just that little bit better in your suitcase.

Hmm. Is it annoying if I randomly boost my own stuff?

Don’t get me wrong. By all means, keep making them. Keep experimenting. But so far I don’t think I’ve seen a single one that works well or attempted to integrate access kit for example.
