Lee Lakeman was one of my earliest mentors. I learned everything about the women's rights movement and feminism from her. She supported me even when we argued and disagreed. I will remain ever grateful for her friendship and fearlessness. I was prepared for this news and yet can't still quite put into words the level of sadness I feel about her passing.
