Lee Lakeman was one of my earliest mentors. I learned everything about the women's rights movement and feminism from her. She supported me even when we argued and disagreed. I will remain ever grateful for her friendship and fearlessness. I was prepared for this news and yet can't still quite put into words the level of sadness I feel about her passing. I don't quite want to imagine the world without Lee, though of course she will be with us always in spirit. It was my great honour and privilege to fight alongside her.
