2 months ago (precisely) I was complaining about #codeberg displaying irrelevant issue previews on social media.

I opened an issue, then @mfenniak opened a fantastic PR about it as his first contribution to #forgejo , and after a respectful review, it was merged for v10.0 which was released some days ago, and deployed to Codeberg.

@aral yes of course, and I'm not saying DDG should be trusted even if they had their own search index, because they are VC funded. What I'm saying is that being VC funded is not the cause of their "news" section showing MSN links.

@aral I think you're jumping to conclusions on this one: the reason why DDG shows MSN links is that it's so difficult/expensive to build a web search index (because the web is so big), so they use Bing as a main source.

@ploum Est-ce que tu es sûr que c'est d'une alternative dont tu as besoin, et pas d'un réglage MX/DNS/DMARC/DKIM, ou d'une adresse IP différente ? Je ne connais pas tes compétences sur le sujet, est-ce tu connais les outils de diagnostic ?

@joachim Oui on avait une réflexion design dans mon dernier boulot qui était d'intégrer ça au moteur de recherche interne de notre site : à chaque URL renvoyée par le back-end de recherche, ajouter en suffixe l'ancre magique avec l'expression recherchée par l'utilisateur ou le match le plus proche trouvé par le back-end dans le document. On n'est pas allé jusqu'à l'implémentation mais l'idée m'avait plu !

@aral No I don't, since them "pretending" being the good guys is the reason why their cultural imperialism works so well. They have been the bad guys consistently for at least 40 years now, and now that some people start realizing that, maybe some things will change at a global level.

It's only after Palpatine revealed being Darth Sidious that the Rebel Alliance could be formed.
